Description

Fossils of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus were found in April 2020, bringing scientists even closer to the true bone structure of this massive carnivore. Our model is faithfully designed in accordance with the official findings and reconstructions accepted by the scientific community, which were made from this revealing finding.

Due to how peculiarly striking and enigmatic the Spinosaurus has been, it has become the most popular and requested model in our collection.

It is also one of the largest, with a hinged jaw, a neck designed to rotate the skull to any angle from right to left, and adjustable-angle hind limbs. It will remain suspended when you place it on the bases or hang it and with its tail in an undulating position it will seem that it is swimming. Includes spare parts in case you lose any.

One of our dearest clients is Diego Mattarelli, an Italian paleontologist who participated in the revealing excavation in which a large part of the Spinosaurus‘s tail was found and which made it the first non-aquatic dinosaur that possibly had the ability to swim. Seeing our model, Diego immediately contacted us to get a Spinosaurus 2020 from WONDER Artistic Models.
You can see his opinion here.

In October 2023 we made some updates to this beautiful model, among which are: ribs inclined backwards, inclusion of the transverse processes of the dorsal vertebrae, details in the dorsal spines, thinner limbs, modification of cervical ribs and updating of the skull.

All of these details make our version of the iconic Spinosaurus aegyptiacus even more accurate than it was from the beginning. Best of all, his pose is open to interpretation, since while it may give the sensation of swimming, it could also simply be propelling himself with his legs at the bottom of a shallow lagoon, like a biggest wader.

This thing is epic ! It came out even bigger than i thought and thats amazing. Now its one of the main things shinig its glory at my dinowall 😀 the neck was difficult to asemble but the rest was easy ( even the tail) its stands very safe with the support. AMAZING just amazing.

From the customer support, wrapping paper quality, no plastic and cleverly utilised cut wood, everything screams premium. I wouldn’t expect to have some of the biggest models delivered in a package no bigger than a blu-ray case… As a kid I had a plastic T-rex that glowed in the dark, very flat, not scientific at all, but locved it… As an adult finding this, I’m overjoyed. The build was engaging, the model has a beautiful fluidity of movement to it, I wouldn’t believe came from planks of wood.

I cannot recommend enough. Thank you Wonder Artistic

My son ordered two models and completed them over two snow days. They are beautifully crafted and he threw away his cheap ones to make room on his display shelf! Glad extra parts came with just in case. Would definitely purchase more!

Very pleased with this kit! The building process is complex enough to be challenging but not frustrating and the final result is a wonderful display piece. It feels like I bought one of those premium adult-geared LEGO sets but for a fraction of the price, haha. If I had the shelf space for it, I’d definitely buy another kit or two.

This model was my first, and my favorite. I appreciate it even more that they have two versions of the Spinosaurus, to show that our understanding of this creature changes and that WONDER does their best to keep up! The model is high quality and good size, and with the included stand it can hold its dynamic pose just fine.

This was one of the first models I had bought, and it’s still one of my absolute favourites! I’ve always wanted a more “up-to-date” Spinosaurus merch, and so I was so happy when I saw this beautiful model! It’s fun to build, and has a good amount of poseability.

My first model, it is great! I love the smell of the wood too, it’s a nice addition to my room.

  9. Francisca Torres (verified owner)

Beautiful! Will definitely be getting more models.

This is a great model with many beautiful details and the size WILL blow you away! I built this with one of my sons (9 years old) and it IS challenging so if you buy this for a child you should be prepared to help out through the process.
I’ve built many wooden models with my children and if you’ve ever built one that uses the plywood type wood you will no doubt know that some of the steps require a lot of force but Wonder uses a softer type wood that is much easier to fit so it’s a lot easier for kids to assemble!
I had been looking for wooden dinosaur models for a few years when I stumbled over wonder (if you consider googling “wooden model quetzalcoatlus” stumbling) and these ARE exactly the models I was looking for and I am certain that the same will apply to you!

I bought this model a couple months ago, along with the skulls of Spinosaurus, Dilophosaurus, and Parasaurolophus. I am extremely satisfied with the models and the customer service! The models are very fun and satisfying to put together after you get a hang of it. I began with the simpler skull models rather than the large Spinosaurus skeleton, as I had never assembled them before.
I also experienced some issues while checking out, and the customer service was very helpful about it. They were very responsive.
My only suggestion (not complaint) is because some pieces are more fragile than others, make sure to be careful and read all the instructions! I broke a few pieces and the team helped me replace them, which I am very thankful for!
The realism of the skeleton’s anatomy is stunning.

    Thank you so much!

  12. Nathan P

The attention to detail is gorgeous on this model! Spinosaurus is my number one favorite donosaur and it makes me so happy to see it represented in a medium that I can assemble myself. The building process was a fair challenge, but very rewarding. I especially liked putting together the tail, with its recurving shape.

What an excellent Model. A dream came true. – I was always fascinated by Nazir Ibrahim’s new discoveries about Spinosaurus aegyptiacus and ever since wanted to own a model that was up to date with the latest science. Wonder Artistic Models is doing an amazing job in doing so. And besides the science it was also a lot of fun to build. Already bought other models and will do so in the future. Thank you very much from Berlin, Germany 😉
