Seahorses (Hippocampus) are a group of marine fish that live in shallow waters around the world.

The mating ritual of seahorses is perceived as one of the most romantic in the animal kingdom: between courtship dances that can even last several days, they finally mate by rotating in an upward spiral in front of each other and bringing their snouts together, with the male being the one who finally carries the eggs inside him.

Additionally, it is known that most species of seahorses are monogamous, forming stable pairs for life.

All these qualities make seahorses very impressive beings with a unique beauty. Unfortunately, currently the existence of some seahorse species are in a vulnerable situation due to causes such as pollution of the seas and deterioration of their habitat, the trade in exotic animals, the aquarium trade, and mainly the bycatch produced by the Trawling.

At WONDER Artistic Models we wanted to pay tribute to seahorses around the world and raise awareness about the care and conservation that these creatures need.

Our 3D buildable model is anatomically accurate, based on a lined seahorse (Hippocampus erectus), one of the currently threatened species.

This striking 3D wooden model can be divided into 2 parts to decorate, for example, the ends of a shelf. It can also be assembled by couples who each have their own at home as a symbol of their commitment until, perhaps, they decide to join their lives and put both models back together into one, since its base is heart-shaped.

This model is undoubtedly an excellent piece that will make any shelf in that museum at home that we all want to have look beautiful.
