Description

Ankylosaurus magniventris was a herbivore that lived in what is now North America at the end of the Cretaceous period, more than 65 million years ago. It is probably the largest member of the Ankylosauridae family, enjoying great popularity due to various appearances, both in books and documentaries as well as in movies and animated series.

The most notable feature of Ankylosaurus is the armor of osteoderms (bony plates on the skin) that covered almost the entirety of its body, in addition to the caudal club at the end of its tail. Our model is a faithful representation of the latest theories about this creature.

With this Ankylosaurus model you will live the experience of putting together with your own hands a work of art that was carefully designed to respect the proportions of this fascinating dinosaur. We have added to the design each and every one of the osteoderms that it probably had on its body, in an attempt to complement science with imagination to expose in a single model all the beauty of this wonderful Mesozoic beast.

Beautiful piece. Sturdy and everything fits together nice and snug.

Likely one of the most difficult so far, although having finished it it is much better than originally expected. Some pieces are fiddly to place but the build is strong so it can take a little rough handling, and once completed it really looks detailed and well defined. The model can be tedious as there are a lot of repetitive steps but taken in little by little every day will eventually take you there. The finished piece looks astonishing and is stronger than most – perhaps due to the squat profile of the animal. I would not recommend for beginners, but for a third or fourth pick, this is a real gem!
