Description

Spinosaurus aegyptiacus has always been fascinating, and its popularity only increases as time goes by. Discoveries that reveal new evidence, investigations into its mysterious behavior and its appearance in different popular events such as movies and documentaries have positioned it as one of the most popular dinosaurs of all time.

The most recent find was published in April 2020. A large part of the tail of a Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, until then unknown, was found. From the discovery, scientists offered the world a swimming Spinosaurus aegyptiacus and subsequent investigations determined that it was most likely a wader, which means that it hunted in shallow waters or in swamps, quite similar to current herons or pelicans.

Even so, some scientists do not agree with certain aspects of the reconstruction offered by the research team and have decided to advance in parallel with another proposal. From this initiative arose the idea of a completely bipedal Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, with an “S”-shaped neck and, due to a rearrangement of the dorsal vertebrae, an almost semicircular sail.

The Spinosaurus model (Biped Theory) is our version of this proposal. It is one of the largest models in the entire collection, and despite the controversy over the appearance of this dinosaur, it is undeniable that this version looks fantastic and imposing.

The model has an articulated jaw and also the neck in 2 points, which allows the skull to be rotated in any direction. In addition, the tail is divided into 5 points to be able to curve it at will, and give an even more organic and realistic appearance. It also includes spare parts in case any part is lost or damaged during assembly.

All these details make this version of the iconic Spinosaurus aegyptiacus one of the best options you can find for this species.

    Hermoso modelo, la forma de la vela lo distingue del modelo nadador perfectamente.

    Good model, very sturdy and looks very good. The instructions are a little hard to follow, but not impossible.

    I bought this and the T-Rex Deluxe models for my oddities collection (I have a fairly collection of bones and fossils) I had to have the spinosaurus since it’s my favorite dinosaur. Your hands will be raw by time you’re done –please make sure to moisturize and take breaks, it’ll save your fingers– but it was so worth it! I plan on buying many more models in the future, hoping to collect them all! Advice to any buyers: WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE PUTTING IT TOGETHER! It was save you SO much time if you already have a basic understanding of how to do it. I only had to reference the video a couple times since I’d already watched it ahead of time

    First off, I absolutely loved how scientifically accurate this is, and how well made all of the pieces are. I didn’t have much experience beforehand with putting together these types of 3D puzzles, and struggled occasionally with certain parts (mostly the fault of my own incompetence), but the video tutorial provided helped immensely. Fingers were a little sore for a bit after but it’s SO WORTH IT! I love my model and it sits quite proudly on top of my shelf with all of my Spinosaurus related items. Definitely a must buy for any dinosaur fan, especially Spinosaurus enthusiasts!
