Description
Since the research that revealed the tail of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus was published in April 2020, this dinosaur has been the center of attention of the entire paleo community, both scientists, enthusiasts and fans continue to be captivated by how particular this dinosaur is.
Because of how peculiarly striking and enigmatic the Spinosaurus has been, it has become the most popular and requested model in our collection. Furthermore, it is faithfully designed according to official findings and reconstructions accepted by the scientific community, and is one of the largest in the entire collection.
Among the qualities offered by our Spinosaurus aegyptiacus (Wader Theory) you will find: the articulated jaw, a neck divided into 3 sections that allows the skull to rotate at any angle from right to left, and a tail with an adjustable angle in 4 points to be able to curve it at will, and give an even more organic and realistic appearance.
In addition, it includes spare parts in case any part is lost or damaged during assembly.
Why does it have a supported front limb?
When we decided to make a terrestrial version of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus we consulted one of our dearest clients, Dr. Diego Mattarelli.
Diego is not only a paleontologist, but he also participated in the revealing excavation that was published in 2020 in which a large part of the Spinosaurus tail was found. This makes him one of the people closest to all these investigations.
He told us that Spinosaurus aegyptiacus was a dinosaur with strong adaptations to aquatic life and that it could occasionally leave the water, and that it is important not to compare it with a heron or other similar birds, because it did not behave like that.
Instead, the studies that the team has carried out reveal that the Spinosaurus hunted in the water by swimming after its prey and finding it in the murky waters, thanks to the “sonar” present in its snout.
However, he also told us that the fossil evidence of its arms is scarce and fragmentary, so scientists prefer not to say whether it was biped or quadruped. For this reason, Dr. Mattarelli recommended that we find a way to make the model supporting one arm, so that it would work regardless of future findings.
That’s when we decided to design it in a dynamic pose, just at the moment when it pounced on some prey. Given the size of its legs, a Spinosaurus could easily have rested a front limb on the ground momentarily.
This is why our model has a supported front limb. We consider that this pose is versatile enough to remain valid for several years and different new scientific proposals.
If it is discovered that it was bipedal, then it is only supporting its hand during an attack. If, on the other hand, it is discovered that it was quadruped, then this model will also represent it quite well.
All the details that the model has, and the fact that the pose is open to future research and interpretation, make this version of the iconic Spinosaurus aegyptiacus one of the best options you can find for this species.

Parts were excellently cut- required a little sanding. Completed model is awesome!
I’m a big fan of the wader theory model of spinosaurus in general and was incredibly excited to see that I could obtain a wooden model of it!
The articulation of the tail and neck are perfect for posing it.

I built this one after the giganotosaurus. I wouldn’t say this one is much more difficult, but it does have a couple areas that did trip me up a little. The finished product looks amazing and does capture the weirdness of what spinosaurus was.
