Description

Quetzalcoatlus was a creature that lived during the Cretaceous period, approximately 65 million years ago in what is now North America.

It belongs to a popular family of flying reptiles, the pterosaurs, specifically the so-called azhdarchids, known for being large, for not having teeth and for having rigid and peculiarly long necks.

Azhdarchids existed in different geographical areas around the world, which is why scientists do not rule out the idea that they could fly despite their enormous dimensions. If so, they are the largest flight-capable living beings of all time.

The WONDER Artistic Models Quetzalcoatlus model boasts a high level of detail and versatility. Thanks to ingenious assemblies, it can be placed both in ground pose and in flight pose. For the latter, a couple of additional extremities on the left side are included in the package so that the model looks truly dynamic in both poses.

Another design and engineering achievement in this model is its neck. This is sectioned into 4 parts: 1 at the base of the skull with which you will be able to position your head in 3 angles from right to left, and another 3 sections will allow you to choose from a wide range of poses from top to bottom. Combining these assemblies, you will be able to fix the neck in multiple positions.

Undoubtedly, the Quetzalcoatlus buildable model is a worthy representation of this prehistoric king of the heavens, and could not be missing from your collection. In other words, this beautiful piece would look amazing in your personal display that turns your home into a museum.

Next up, we have the Quetzalcoatlus. The Model of this Azhdarchid is huge!! It towers over most other models, except the Brachiosaurus. The articulation on this one is also great, furthermore the model is suitable for beginners. If you are a pterosaur lover, this one will make you more than happy!

This model is epic! It’s huge, it’s robust, it really gives a sense of scale and I had a lot of fun assembling it. I love how customizable it is, being able to position the head and neck differently, and open or close the mouth. And that’s just for the standing position. There are separate pieces for use in the flying position, either using a stand or hanging in the air. So it will continue to engage me into the future as I try out different looks for it. 100% recommend this.

This Quetzalcoatlus was a lot fun to put together. It was pretty easy to build it and I was able to figure out how to do the standing or flying position from the instructions. I hung it from the ceiling with string and it looks great.

High quality build and display piece

My first model from this company and it was definitely a great one. It looks just as fantastic as on the website and has an excellent level of quality that few other wood models have. I will say I had some slight trouble with getting the neck to attach to the body and had to sand down one of the pegs pretty heavily before it fit. For me, this felt more like an advanced kit than an intermediate one, but it was certainly worth the effort. I also had a lot of fun trying out all the different poses for the neck and head (there are so many possibilities for this model!)

This was the first model I built. After seeing a bunch of ads on Instagram for this company I finally decided to buy them. They did not disappoint, the instructions were very clear and the finished product looks beautiful and very true to form. I am anxiously awaiting future purchases to create a miniature prehistoric museum in my house with these amazing models!

I learned about your company from Ben Thomas’s program on Utube concerning the azhdarchids. I had to order Quetzalcoatlus and was impressed !! I am used to modeling in metal so this was a new concept for me and there was a learning curve but it finally clicked and everything fit together. I love the smell of the Lazer cut wood !!!

    Beware: This model is huge!

Love the wingspan of it, and the fact that it has multiple joints to try several modeling positions. The instructions are very clear and include spare parts for the smallest pieces in case an accident happens

This was the first WAM I built. The youtube help video was very useful in understanding the process. I accidentally over-sanded some of the joints and needed to use wood glue. My only issue with the final model is that the head is a little heavy and the connection to the neck is a little flimsy. Might have to glue that in place too. I appreciate that string was included for hanging the model. Overall extremely enjoyable experience and will definitely be getting more.
